Elvis, Popeye...Damn
The ridiculously prolific Elvis Costello has a new album out, this time a lyrical/musical/literal trip to New Orleans with veteran songwriter Allen Toussaint. I just got my copy and it's pretty neat. "Here comes the flood if you catch my drift."
I'm a big nerd and I love the 1930s Fleischer Popeye cartoons, so this news got me excited. Now how about a complete reprinting of Elzie Segar's Thimble Theater (the fantastic comic strip Popeye came from)? Eh?

That site is DAMN INTERESTING. My housemates and I read about numbers stations for hours, downloaded clips, etc.; creepy shit. I also learned something about Uncle O'Grimacey I thought you may like while I was researching about Mac Tonight:

Yeah, I downloaded the whole Conet Project numbers station recordings after I read that. That was probably a little more counting in German than I needed, but still, neat stuff.
The McDonaldland chess set the guy mentions in the XE article would be so rad. I guess Fry Kids and McNuggets would be the pawns.
I found the Mac Tonight commercial, had to watch it over and over again..
